The Jackson Symphony League Committees

COLOR OF MUSIC Committee

Purpose: To expose children in West Tennessee to orchestral music through an educational art project and a live open rehearsal by the symphony.
Duties: Assist the Color of Music chairperson with distributing information to the local schools, collect artwork, volunteer to judge artwork, help with display of artwork, and aid in management of the awards presentation.

CRYSTAL BALL Committee

Purpose: To raise money for the symphony and to present educational projects.
Duties: Assist the Crystal Ball Committee chairperson(s) with obtaining items for the live and silent auctions, and to help set up tables for the dinner, or sell drink tickets, or monitor the silent auction tables, or assist with the coat check.

MEETING HOSPITALITY Committee

Purpose: To arrange and deliver food and refreshments for the League meetings.
Duties: Assist the Chairperson in making arrangements to deliver food and refreshments at private homes, local business offices, local restaurants, etc. for meetings. You may offer your residence or business office as a location for a meeting.

MUSICIAN HOSPITALITY Committee

Purpose: To arrange and deliver food and refreshments for the Symphony musicians at rehearsals.
Duties: Assist the Chairperson in planning, preparing, or arranging for food and refreshments to be delivered, served, and cleaned up at symphony rehearsals, and for annual brunch.

MEMBERSHIP Committee

Purpose: To recruit new League members, retain current League members, and encourage member engagement.
Duties: Assist the Chairperson in reaching out to potential new members and current members during annual recruitment drive. Offer feedback on how to best engage members. Serve as support for other committee Chairpersons.

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM Committee

Purpose: To help monitor students in the Ambassador program at concerts.
Duties: Assist the Ambassador Chairperson in the organizing of students for concert ushering as needed. Help coordinate and implement the next annual Ambassador Social on August 23, 2020. Assist new members at the Ambassador Social with sign-up, and collection of membership forms.
